# The Holy Spirit

The Holy Spirit is God, the third person of the Trinity, equal with the Father and the Son. He is a
person: He teaches and reminds believers of what Jesus said (John 14:26), convicts the world
concerning sin, righteousness and judgment (John 16:8), and seals every believer as the guarantee of
what is to come (Ephesians 1:13-14). This section sits beside [God the Father](https://the-way.lewy.au/god/) and
[Jesus](https://the-way.lewy.au/jesus/), God the Son, because the three persons are one God. The
[Statement of Faith](https://the-way.lewy.au/about/statement-of-faith/#god-the-holy-spirit) sets out what this site
believes about Him.

[The Names of the Holy Spirit](https://the-way.lewy.au/holy-spirit/names-of-the-holy-spirit/) follows the names Scripture gives Him,
from the Spirit of God over the waters to the Spirit and the Bride who say "Come".

## Studies of the Spirit elsewhere on this site

These studies are filed by their own subject, and each has a part on the Spirit:

- [Weeks: Fifty Days to Pentecost](https://the-way.lewy.au/feasts/weeks/#firstfruits-of-the-spirit): the day God poured out the
Holy Spirit, at the Feast of Weeks.
- [The Restrainer](https://the-way.lewy.au/last-things/the-restrainer/#the-spirit-dwells-in-the-church): the Spirit
dwelling in the church holds back lawlessness until the church is caught up.

A study of the names the Bible gives the Holy Spirit, from the Spirit of God over the waters to the Helper Jesus promised: whose Spirit He is, what each name says He brings, and how by Him you call God Father and Jesus Lord.
