God the Father

There is one God, eternally existing in three persons: the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit, each fully God. Moses heard "The LORD our God, the LORD is one" (Deuteronomy 6:4, ESV), and Jesus sent His disciples to baptize "in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit" (Matthew 28:19, ESV). This site gives the three persons three sections side by side: this one, Jesus, God the Son, and The Holy Spirit.

This section studies the Father, "from whom are all things and for whom we exist" (1 Corinthians 8:6, ESV), together with what is true of the one God: His names, His nature, creation, and the ways He makes Himself known. The Statement of Faith sets out what this site believes about the Trinity.

  • Precious Stones in Scripture

Why Ezekiel and John describe God's throne and the New Jerusalem in gemstones: what each stone was, how the breastpiece, Ezekiel 28 and Revelation 21 share one list, and what a stone's light (lustre, dispersion, asterism, pleochroism) shows about the glory of God.
